This idea came from us finding it hard to get a Production Company to read a script that didn’t come through an agent. 90% of Companies won’t even read the first page of an unsolicited script. We’re that exception.
We set up this Company to make films, (of course we want to make money as well) and a great film starts with a great script. People don’t often talk about the screenwriter, you never see their names in big, bold lettering on the front of the poster. Why not? These are the guys and girls who make the film possible, without them you just have Johnny Depp and Scarlett Johansson sitting in a room for two hours, without muttering a single word to each other (granted there are some people who would still pay to see that).
As a scriptwriter Jamie knows how many long nights you have to go through to get that perfect scene, how many re-wrties you have to do until it actually makes sense and how many cups of coffees you have to drink until that great ending finally comes to you.
